Composite Doors Surrey
A composite door is built around a solid core under a tough, weather resistant outer skin, which makes it thicker, better insulated and harder to force than an old timber or early uPVC door. It needs no painting and keeps its colour for years. We supply and fit composite front and back doors across Surrey from Solidor, Endurance and Apeer.
Composite doors we have fitted
Every door is made to order in the style, colour, glazing and hardware you choose. Among those we have fitted are the Solidor Flint 2 in Painswick, the Solidor Ancona in black, the Endurance Snowden Georgian in blue, the Endurance Alto in Raven black and the Apeer APM2 in Pebble grey. You can see more on our composite front doors page and in our gallery.
What to check before you order
- The core. Solidor doors are built on a 48mm solid timber core, which gives the hinges and locks something solid to fix into.
- The lock and cylinder. The door is only as secure as the cylinder in it, so ask which one is included. What is PAS 24 explains the security standard to look for.
- What will wear. The slab usually outlasts the hinges, cylinder and gearbox, as how long should a composite door last explains, so ask how the guarantee covers each part.
- The planning position. Replacing a front door on a house is usually permitted development if the new door looks similar, unless the house is listed or covered by an Article 4 Direction.
